The Becker Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 74 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Branch. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (69), Becker still had to take the loss.
Becker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sawyer Brown, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyan Blomquist, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Becker's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-9. As for North Branch, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Becker will face off against the Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Rocori has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 911 points over their last 13 games. As for North Branch, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chisago Lakes Area knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge.
