Softball Recap: North Stokes' Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

North Stokes had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Mount Airy Granite Bears with a sharp 14-1 victory on Monday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 10-6 victory two weeks ago.

Rori Long was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Spencer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

North Stokes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Airy only posted an OBP of .238.

North Stokes' win bumped their record up to 6-13-1. As for Mount Airy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, North Stokes will head out to challenge East Wilkes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Mount Airy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
