Paetow's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-11 margin over Seven Lakes. Paetow's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
Meanwhile, Katy Taylor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They secured a 30-24 W over Jordan. The win was all the more spectacular given Katy Taylor's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Jordan is ranked 151st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Katy Taylor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dante Archie, who gained 123 total yards and a touchdown. Josiah Rodriguez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Paetow's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Katy Taylor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
