Basketball Recap: Eleanor Sikora Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bishop Machebeuf

On Saturday, the Conifer Lobos earned a 46-36 victory over the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

Conifer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eleanor Sikora led the charge by putting up 18 points. The dominant performance gave Sikora a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ogdon, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds.

Conifer was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Machebeuf only four assists.

Bishop Machebeuf's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justina Cichos, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 21 boards. Cichos is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last five games she's played. Penelope Mikita was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

Conifer's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Conifer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-21 victory against St. John Paul the Great on the 18th. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-31 win against Platte Canyon on the 18th.
