The Mt. Pleasant Tigers won the last time they faced the Hughes Lions, and things went their way on Saturday too. Mt. Pleasant walked away with a 54-44 victory over Hughes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Pleasant.
Hayden Holt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Benderman, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mt. Pleasant is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Hughes, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will challenge Cornersville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cornersville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Hughes, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Perry County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday.
