Baseball Recap: Seeger Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Seeger won the last time they faced Attica and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots came out on top against the Red Ramblers by a score of 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Macyn Hughes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Seeger is undefeated when Hughes posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

Hughes wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Sichts, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Seeger's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Attica, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17-1.

Looking ahead, Seeger will be playing in front of their home fans against Benton Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Bison at the right time seeing as the Bison are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Attica, they will take on Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
