The Morristown Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest loss since November 22, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Rushville, falling 52-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Morristown has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Morristown still got an impressive performance from Mathew Carlton, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Morristown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Rushville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Cain, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cain has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nick Jarman, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Morristown and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Rushville, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11.
Morristown's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. North Decatur presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morristown in Indiana (North Decatur is ranked 156th, while Morristown is ranked 411th). Rushville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th.
