Gloucester Catholic (Gloucester City, N.J.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 14 points, drop to seven before the final whistle blew on a 14-7 victory over
Highland Regional (Blackwood, N.J.).
After taking the lead on a
Michael Davis touchdown pass to
Matthew Davis in the second quarter, the Rams led 6-0 at the half.
Highland Regional's lone touchdown came on a 98-yard pass from
Derin Sweeney to
Jamil Jackson in the fourth quarter.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Tartans took, 31-0.
The loss was the third in a row for Highland Regional.
