The Emery Spartans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to Morgan for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-48 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Emery, who have now won three games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Emery had a senior duo take command as Luke Justice scored 26 points and Wade Stilson almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Justice has scored at least 25% of Emery's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Tuttle, who scored 11 points.
Emery's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Morgan, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 2-5.
Emery will be playing at home against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Wasatch is ranked 74th, while Morgan is ranked 76th).
