If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Courtland. On Friday they take on Fauquier at 7:00 PM. Courtland don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Courtland had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 27-13 win over King George. The success made it back-to-back wins for Courtland.
Meanwhile, we expected Fauquier to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Kettle Run last Friday, and they did. Fauquier found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-35 punch to the gut against Kettle Run.
Courtland were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Fauquier 44-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Courtland since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
