The Maconaquah Braves will be taking part in a tournament against the Caston Comets at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Maconaquah is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Saturday, Maconaquah humbled Logansport with a 55-16 victory. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maconaquah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Stoll, who posted four points along with ten steals and eight assists. Stoll has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Kaiser, who had six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Caston's good fortune finally ran out last Thursday. They came up short against Tippecanoe Valley, falling 50-25. The matchup marked the Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Maconaquah will need to focus on slowing down Madisyn Douglass, one of several Caston players who made an impact when they last played. She scored 12 points and five boards. That was a full 48% of Caston's points, marking the fourth time in a row Douglass has put up more than a third of the team's points.
Maconaquah's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Caston, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Maconaquah has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Caston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Maconaquah couldn't quite get it done against Caston when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as they fell 48-40. Thankfully for the Braves, Isabel Scales (who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
