Malad is a perfect 10-0 against Soda Springs since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dragons will head out to challenge the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Malad will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Last Monday, Malad made easy work of Firth and carried off a 21-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riglee Peterson was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring five runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Malad let Brylee Oglesbee and Hadlee Summers run wild. Oglesbee went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Summers went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Oglesbee has posted since back in April of 2024. Tylee Venable also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Malad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Soda Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Ririe on Tuesday and fell 9-7. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aiyana Davis put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Aspen Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Hemmert, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Malad pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Soda Springs, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Soda Springs' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Malad has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Soda Springs, though, as they've been averaging 12.3 hits. Given Malad's sizable advantage in that area, the Cardinals will need to find a way to close that gap.
Malad took their win against Soda Springs in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
