Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Ridge Red Devil, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to Northern Highlands 31-26. Ridge's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Ridge still got an impressive performance from Ryan Olivo, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Nate Johnson, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Freddie Kanning, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Northern Highlands, their victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northern Highlands will square off against Ramapo at TBD on Friday. Ramapo will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
