The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Waldron Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Jac-Cen-Del is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Waldron in Indiana (Jac-Cen-Del is ranked 111th, while Waldron is ranked 263rd).
Last Saturday, Jac-Cen-Del got the win against South Dearborn by a conclusive 54-31.
Reagan Hughes and Julia Meyer were among the main playmakers for Jac-Cen-Del as the former scored 15 points along with 3 steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Hughes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Borgman, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-37, which was the final score in Waldron's tilt against Triton Central on Friday. Waldron has not had much luck with Triton Central recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Waldron saw an underclassman step up: Grace Fischer scored 16 points. The contest was Fischer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Benson, who scored 8 points along with 5 assists.
South Decatur's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Jac-Cen-Del's loss dropped theirs to 5-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Jac-Cen-Del have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5 threes per game. It's a different story for Waldron, though, as they've been averaging only 4.9 per game. Given Jac-Cen-Del's sizeable advantage in that area, Waldron will need to find a way to close that gap. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
Everything came up roses for Jac-Cen-Del against Waldron in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 64-19 win. Does Jac-Cen-Del have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waldron turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
