Mckenzee Petersen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Hannah Houts was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Lexington Rains also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Corvallis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Crescent Valley.
Parker Doerr was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Leah Childress, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Silverton came out on top in a nail-biter against Corvallis in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
