Kevin Miller and Cole McConnell provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Dunmore. The connection went for 87 yards, the longest such play in Lackawanna 2 this season.
The Bucks extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Honesdale, 48-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Hornets' dynamic duo of Miller and McConnell proved to be unstoppable against Jack Henzes' team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miller threw for 177 yards and 1 touchdown and McConnell had 119 yards receiving. Joshua LoBasso helped Honesdale's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 46 yards.
Jayson Figueroa was a beast in the backfield as Western Wayne beat Riverside.
Figueroa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats defeated the Vikings. Figueroa's favorite target this week was Figueroa, who caught 2 passes for 17 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Chet Anuszewski of Lakeland is the league leader in passing yards this season with 729. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Josh Zilla. The Dunmore star has 13 catches for 251 yards.
The Bucks are currently in first, while the Chiefs are in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when Dunmore and Lakeland face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bucks comes in having scored 254 this season, while Jeff Wasilchak's team has scored 143. Dunmore scored 48 points last week as it beat Honesdale.
The Chiefs scaled the state rankings by moving to 284 from 401 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Lakeland climbed the ranks as a result of topping Mid Valley 43-15.
