It was a good run, but the Chittenango Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Institute of Tech. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chittenango has scored all season.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bernardo Bortovski, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bortovski has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Lamphere, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Chittenango smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chittenango's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Institute of Tech, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Chittenango has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Westhill at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Chittenango is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.2 points per game this season. Institute of Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
