The Paxton Bobcats stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Bethlehem 49-28. Given Paxton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Bethlehem is ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paxton was led to victory by Marley McClelland and Lexie Nagy. McClelland scored seven points along with four steals, while Nagy scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Alyssa Falk was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
Paxton pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Bethlehem, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paxton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Florida Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully West Florida Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. As for Bethlehem, they will be playing at home against Altha at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Altha has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
