The Round Lake Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
Round Lake can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They came up short against Zion-Benton, falling 13-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.
Round Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Amaral, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Amaral has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Rolling Meadows put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Elmwood Park 7-1.
Aiden Gallucci looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Callum Paisley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Schneider, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Rolling Meadows kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elmwood Park only managed three hits.
