The Countryside Cougars fell victim to the East Lake Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Eagles 38-0. Countryside just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.
John Angelo threw for 82 yards on nine of 22 attempts. Tavaris Gant was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Dante Roach rushed for 71 yards.
The team won by holding Countryside to a paltry no rushing yards and 70 passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to East Lake's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Charlie Benton and his two sacks.
Countryside's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for East Lake, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5.
Countryside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Lake also has no future games currently scheduled.
