Anacoco won against Oberlin on Saturday with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Indians' way against the Fairview Panthers as they made off with a 19-4 win. That 15-run margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
Caleb Dixon and Caleb Taylor were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Dixon tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Taylor tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dixon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Dixon went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Taylor went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Dixon a new career-high.
In other batting news, Peyton Wenrich and Anden Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Wenrich went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Wilson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Wenrich is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Drew Patin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Anacoco kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Anacoco's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Fairview, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.
Looking ahead, Anacoco will take on Pitkin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairview, they will head out on the road to challenge Hicks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
