Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Madison Academy's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

There's no place like home for Madison Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Brindlee Mountain Lions on Monday as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cataryna Schreiber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Evie Stephenson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Mya Western was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Madison Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matches.

Madison Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Brindlee Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.

Madison Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-1 victory against Elkmont on the 28th. Brindlee Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
