The biggest upset of the week belonged to Torrance, who took down 420th ranked Centennial, 21-12.
The Tartars moved up to 499 from 534 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. Torrance was able to make move up by beating the Apaches 21-12.
El Segundo's dynamic duo of Lars Nootbaar and Jamie Stewart proved tough for North to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nootbaar threw for 194 yards and one touchdown and Stewart had 89 yards receiving. Austin Kurke helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 60 yards.
Ryan Bowman was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 205 yards as South fell to the Saxons. Kyle Nesbit also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
El Segundo's Daniel Zeman and Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Zeman has thrown for 948 yards this season, while Stewart, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 36 catches for 614 yards. Jonathan Heard from Rock Hollis' team leads the league in rushing with 685 yards.
A big matchup in Pioneer this week will be when North takes on the Spartans. At the moment, Todd Croce's team is in first, while South is in third.
The Saxons took down Steve Shevlin's team 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
