The Mercy Prep Academy Royals waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Grayson Christian with a 60-56 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mercy Prep Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Baker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Baker hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Lawson, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Mercy Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Grayson Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercy Prep Academy will square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Non Varsity Opponent will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Grayson Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.7 points per game.
