There's no place like home for the Clewiston Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 51-50 win over LaBelle. This was payback for Clewiston, who suffered a 40-22 loss the last time these two teams met.
Clewiston found their leader in underclassman Milan Holomes, who scored 11 points along with nine steals. Another player making a difference was Tyra Fields, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Clewiston pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for LaBelle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clewiston will take on Glades Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. LaBelle won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gateway Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Gateway Charter is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
