The Mid Valley Spartans will take on the Elk Lake Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Elk Lake will be up against a hot Mid Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went the Spartans' way against Lakeland on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-3 win.
Cooper Lukasavage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

Joey Romanosky
| 04/09/25 @ Lakeland | 4 |
| 04/03/25 @ Old Forge | 3 |
| 03/24/25 vs Blue Ridge | 2 |
| 03/22/25 @ Wyoming Area | 1 |
| 05/10/24 vs Honesdale | 1 |
On the hitting side, Joey Romanosky was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Yanoski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Mid Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last three times Elk Lake and Mountain View had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-1 victory on Friday. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 29, 2023.
Braydon McMicken and Dawson Sherman made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, McMicken didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sherman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, McMicken scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Sherman scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. McMicken also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Ayotte, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alden Felker, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Mid Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.3 runs this season. As for Elk Lake, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Mid Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Elk Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
