Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Axtell's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Axtell barely beat Dawson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. Considering the Longhorns have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Axtell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Dawson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Axtell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dawson, they will face off against Mart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
