The Memorial Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coweta. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Memorial has scored all season.
Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asia Roper, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Roper is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylena Lowe, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Memorial's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Coweta, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Nathan Hale at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Nathan Hale comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Coweta, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McAlester at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. McAlester is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
