Benzie Central and the Panthers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Benzie Central Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Frankfort Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benzie Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Onekama typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Benzie Central proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Portagers. Given Benzie Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Portagers are ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Frankfort was beaten by the Lakers 57-30 on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frankfort has scored all season.
Benzie Central pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Frankfort, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Everything came up roses for Benzie Central against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 70-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Benzie Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
