The Maryvale Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Alhambra 71-45. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Maryvale as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maryvale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Stubbs, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Devin Murphy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Maryvale's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Alhambra, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Maryvale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carl Hayden Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Carl Hayden Community presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maryvale in Arizona (Carl Hayden Community is ranked 85th, while Maryvale is ranked 200th). Alhambra won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Browne at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Browne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Alhambra likes a good challenge.
