Huntingdon and McKenzie are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Huntingdon Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the McKenzie Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Huntingdon is ranked 72nd, while McKenzie is ranked 51st).
Huntingdon pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dyersburg.
Meanwhile, McKenzie suffered a rough 55-30 defeat at the hands of Westview on Tuesday. McKenzie has struggled against Westview recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Huntingdon's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for McKenzie, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-2.
Everything came up roses for Huntingdon against McKenzie in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 86-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huntingdon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
