The Bishop's Knights will square off against the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Bishop's fell victim to Escondido Charter and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the White Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the White Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy made easy work of Foothills Christian on Wednesday and carried off a 16-4 win. The game marked the Stingrays' most dominant victory of the season.
Therese Frazer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Frazer was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aubrey Price was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Castillo, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Coastal Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Coastal Academy pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Bishop's, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
