Basketball Recap: North Moore Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cummings last Tuesday, North Moore came back down to earth. The North Moore Mustangs were outmatched by the Southeast Alamance Stallions and fell 82-23. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 65-15.

Despite the loss, North Moore still got an impressive performance from Calissa Clendenin, who posted 11 points and six boards. Clendenin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shaniya Paylor, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists. Rreanna Johnson was another key player, putting up 17 points and five steals.

North Moore's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Southeast Alamance, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Moore will face off against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Alamance, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cummings at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Southeast Alamance's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
