Basketball Recap: Blountstown Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Liberty County came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Blountstown, but Cyion Smith wouldn't allow it. The Blountstown Tigers came out on top against the Liberty County Bulldogs by a score of 61-52 on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Jaxson Williams was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Blountstown is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Liberty County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-4 record this season.

Blountstown will face off against Port St. Joe at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Port St. Joe will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Blountstown surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-45 win against Wewahitchka on the 29th.
