Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East

East entered their tilt with Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 53-46 win over the Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts Cavaliers. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Cavaliers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 55-47 loss.

East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dallas Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Hernandez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoine Williams, who posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

East pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

East will head out to square off against The Park School of Buffalo at 1:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Buffalo Academy for Visual & Performing Arts, they will face off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
