The Corinth Riverhawks will face off against the Mayfield Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Corinth has given up an average of 6.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Granville hit Corinth with a six-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Riverhawks fell 11-6 to the Golden Horde. The Riverhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Tangora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Baker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville hit Mayfield with a five-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Cubby Roth (C) put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Roth (C) was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Roth (C) wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Conyne, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Patrick Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Corinth, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corinth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mayfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Corinth came out on top in a nail-biter against Mayfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Do the Riverhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
