The Emerald Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Union County, posting a 69-23 victory on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Emerald as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Emerald was led to victory by Ti'yonia Tennant and Adrianna Smith. Tennant scored four points along with 19 rebounds and nine steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryonna Talbert, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Emerald's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Union County, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerald will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Emerald likes a good challenge. As for Union County, they will be playing at home against Woodruff at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
