New Bern Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 46-25 defeat at the hands of Pungo Christian Academy. New Bern Christian Academy found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 26 to 3 on offense.
New Bern Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alli Anderson, who scored five points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Coghill, who scored three points.
Allison Sawyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pungo Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 23 rebounds. Sawyer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Alden Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
New Bern Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
New Bern Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Liberty Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Liberty Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will play host again and welcome Albemarle School, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Albemarle School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
