Scott and Winfield are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Scott will host Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Scott beats Winfield with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Scott blew past Clay County 14-2 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Skyhawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jason Ferrell and Ryan Neal were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ferrell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Neal tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Ferrell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Neal went 4-for-5 with one RBI. Ferrell has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Louden White, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Dent, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Scott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Winfield entered their tilt with Wayne on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 6-0 shutout.
Owen Taylor was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Winfield pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Scott, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scott has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Winfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Scott suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Winfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will Scott have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
