West Orange hasn't had much luck against Windermere recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. West Orange will take on Windermere at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, West Orange put up the most points they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against Wekiva as West Orange made off with an 18-3 win. The Warriors not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2024.
Ilaria Forte and Cali Flowers did most of the damage at the plate: Forte went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base, while Flowers scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five RBI gave Forte a new career-high. Audrey Carrien also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: West Orange kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wekiva only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Windermere made easy work of Lake Buena Vista on Monday and carried off a 19-2 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sophia Margelos looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Windermere got a massive performance out of Hazel Seppi, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Tessa Olofson was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Windermere is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. West Orange moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
West Orange might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Windermere in their previous matchup back in February. Can West Orange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
