Shelby won the last time they faced Galion and things went their way on Thursday too. The Whippets blew past the Tigers 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Whippets, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Shelby let Elise Mullins and Braylee Sturts run wild. Mullins went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Sturts scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave Mullins a new career-high. Karlie Walp was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Shelby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galion only posted an OBP of .286.

Shelby pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Galion, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Shelby will face off against Mapleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Whippets are facing the Mounties at the right time seeing as the Mounties are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Galion, they will be playing at home against Ontario at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
