A big 24-point second quarter helped carry
Castle View (Castle Rock, Colo.) to a 45-13 victory over Palmer (Colorado Springs, Colo.) on Saturday.
The Sabercats scored on a touchdown run by
Tanner Townsend, a passing touchdown and a kick return in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Townsend touchdown run in the second quarter, Castle View led 24-13 at the half.
CV expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. The Castle Rock school scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
Travon Charity played well for the Terrors. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
Townsend played well for the Sabercats in the victory. The senior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Castle View also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 44-7.
With the win CV extended its winning streak to three games.
Castle View (3-2) will play a non-conference game against Valor Christian next week, while Palmer (0-5) will take on Heritage in a 5A Pioneer game.
