The Patapsco Patriots fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Carver A&T Wildcats on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-24 walloping at the hands of the Wildcats. Patapsco has struggled against Carver A&T recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Carver A&T found their leader in underclassman Elisah Guity, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guity has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Brandon, who scored ten points.
Patapsco bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Carver A&T, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Patapsco will head out on the road to square off against New Town at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Town presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Patapsco in Maryland (New Town is ranked 53rd, while Patapsco is ranked 214th). As for Carver A&T, they will be playing at home against Dulaney at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
