The White River Hornets will head out to take on the Kentlake Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
White River came out on top against Kent-Meridian on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run fourth inning. The Hornets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Royals a 15-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three matches in a row.
Kolton Jensen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, White River got a big performance out of Alex Kelley, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Kelley has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Lucas Brazier was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
White River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kent-Meridian only posted an OBP of .263.
Kentlake came out on top against Auburn Mountainview on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run sixth inning. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Lions. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Like White River, Kentlake also got a great game from a two-way player: Christopher Moore. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, Lincoln Moore was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Noah Adams, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Kentlake's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for White River, their record is now 9-10.
