The Anderson Cubs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past West Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-22. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Anderson's 12-point performance the game before.
Gavin Lockhart was a one-man wrecking crew for Anderson as he rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Lockhart was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
Anderson's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for West Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson will take on Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lassen's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. As for West Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Yreka at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yreka is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
