Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, Va.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 48-16 win over Atlantic Shores Christian (Chesapeake, Va.).
The Chargers put up 21 points in the opening frame. Isle of Wight Academy scored on a touchdown pass by
Zeb Warnick to
Alex Fronfelter, a
Brandon Saxby touchdown pass to
Jackson Goodman and a touchdown catch by
Gage Rogers.
IWA was up 34-8 at the half after taking the lead on a Saxby touchdown pass to Goodman in the first quarter.
Warnick was the top performer for the Isle of Wight school. The senior running back threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
The Chargers went into the matchup giving up only 17.6 points per game.
Isle of Wight Academy got revenge for last year's 27-14 loss to the Seahawks with the victory.
