Basketball Recap: Concord's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Concord had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 79-56 margin over the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets. The Spiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Concord to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyzen Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Beyan, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Forest Hills lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amari Melton, who posted 15 points. Melton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of K.J Chambers, who had ten points and six rebounds.

Concord's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Forest Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Concord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-67 win against Lake Norman Charter on the 13th. As for Forest Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 88-36 victory against Montgomery Central on the 13th.
