Basketball Recap: Salida Piles Up the Points Against Banning Lewis Academy

Salida entered their tilt with Banning Lewis Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions 63-18. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Braeden Johnson, who went 11 for 15 on her way to 27 points along with seven assists and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Salida's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Graysa Kindle, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Salida was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Banning Lewis Academy only posted six assists.

Salida's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Banning Lewis Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Salida didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-19 victory against Rye on the 6th. As for Banning Lewis Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-18 loss against Lamar on the 8th.
