The Union County Patriots lost against the Eastern Hancock Royals back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Union County was beaten by Eastern Hancock 66-31. Union County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Leading Eastern Hancock to victory were McKenzie Koch and Brooklyn Willis. Koch scored 24 points along with three steals, while Willis scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The match was Koch's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ruby White, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Union County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Eastern Hancock, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will square off against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastern Hancock, they will head out on the road to face off against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Castle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Eastern Hancock is ranked 33rd).
