It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Eureka Wildcats can now relate to. They fell just short of Central by a score of 32-29. Eureka's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keyshawn Boyd, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Boyd has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zai'aire Thomas, who rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown.
Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Central, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Eureka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central is on the road again on Friday and play against Cardinal Ritter College Prep. One thing working in Cardinal Ritter College Prep's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
